Given :-

One of the zeros of the quadratic polynomial

(k - 1)x² - Kx + 3 is (-3)

So,

  • x = -3

To FinD :-

  • The value of k is ?

Solution :-

: \implies \: x =  - 3

Putting the value of x into polynomial

: \implies(k - 1) {x}^{2}  - kx + 3 = 0 \\  \\ : \implies \: (k - 1) \times ( { - 3)}^{2}  - k \times ( - 3) + 3 = 0 \\  \\ : \implies(k - 1) \times 9  + 3k + 3 = 0 \\  \\ : \implies \: 9k - 9 + 3k + 3 = 0 \\  \\ : \implies12k - 6 = 0 \\  \\ : \implies12k = 6 \\  \\ : \implies \: k =  \frac{6}{12}  \\  \\ : \implies \: k =  \frac{1}{2}

Hence , the value of k is 1/2
