It is given that one zero of the quadratic polynomial fx=4x2-8kx+8x-9 is negative of the other. Let the roots be 'α' and '-α' Then the sum of roots is,
α+-α= - coefficient of x coefficient of x2 This gives,
α-α= -- 8k+84
0= -2k+2
2k=2
k=1 Put this value of k in the polynomial kx2+3kx+2 to get
x2+3x+2 Find the zeroes of this polymial as follows:
x2+3x+2=0
x2+2x+x+2=0
xx+2+1x+2=0
x+1x+2=0
This gives,
x+1=0
or
x+2=0

x+1=0
