Explanation:

l=20m b=15m

no. of rounds=2½=5/2 rounds

1 round = perimeter of rectangle

perimeter of rectangle= 2×(l+b)

Distance=total actual length covered

=(5/2)×2×(l+b)

=5×(20+15)

=5×35

=175m

Displacement= shortcut distance between initial and final point

=AC(If we start at A and go anticlockwise the after 2½ rounds we will be at C)

AC can be calculated as follows-

By Pythagoras Theorem

AC²=AB²+BC²

AC²=20²+15²

AC²=400+225

AC²=625

AC=√625

AC=√(5×5×5×5)

AC=5×5=25m
