If one pipe can fill a tank in 5/2 hour and another pipe can empty the tank in 2 hours. How long will it take to fill the tank if both taps are opened together?​

Answer:

One pipe fill a tank= 5/2 hour : 2/5(reciprocal)

Other pipe empty a tank= 2 hour : 1/2 hour

we will add :

2/5 + 1/2

then take the LCM of 5 and 2 it will be 10

2/5 × 2/2 = 4/10

1/2 × 5/5 = 5/10

now add 4/10 + 5/10

9/10 = 10/9 (it is must to take reciprocal)
