if one root of a polynomial 2x^2-3x+p is 3 find p and other root

P ( X ) = 0


2X² - 3X + P = 0




P ( 3 ) = 0



2 × (3)² - 3 × 3 + P = 0



2 × 9 - 9 + P = 0


18 - 9 + P = 0


P + 9 = 0


P = -9





Sum of zeroes = - B/A




3 + Other root = 3/2



Other root = 3/2-3 = 3-6/2



Other root = -3/2 .

p ( x ) = 2x^2 - 3x + p

p ( 3 ) = 2( 3 )^2 - 3 ( 3 ) + p

=> 0 = 18 - 9 + p

=> 0 = 9 + p

=> p = - 9

Sum of zeroes = - b / a

=> 3 + other zero = 3 / 2

=> other zero = 3 / 2 - 3 = - 3 / 2
