AnsWer :

a = 1 and Other roots be 3/2.

To Find :

The Value of a and other roots of given equation.

Solution :

We have,

  • Quadratic equation 2x² + ax + 3 = 0.
  • And there, one root be 1.

So,

( x = 1 )

Putting in given equation,

⇒ 2x² + ax + 3 = 0

⇒ 2 (1)² + a(1) + 3 = 0

⇒ a = -5

Now,

We have New equation, by substitute the value of a in it.

2x² - 5x + 3 = 0

_______________

Let's Find it Roots,

We have Two method Use it.

  • Splitting the Middle term.
  • Quadratic formula.

By Splitting the Middle term,

⇒ 2x² - 2x - 3x + 3 = 0

⇒ 2x (x - 1) - 3 (x - 1) = 0

⇒ (2x - 3) (x - 1)

_______________

Either,

x - 1 = 0

→ x = 1

Or,

→ 2x-3=0\\\\  → x=\frac{3}{2}

Therefore, the value of a be 1 and other roots be 3/2.
