Given: x=2 is a root of the equation

2x

2

+kx−6=0

∴2×2

2

+2k−6=0_8+2k−6=0_2k+2=0_k=−1

Putting k=−1 in the equation 2x

2

+kx−6=0,

Now to find other root of given equation

2x

=2−x−6=0⇒2x

=2−4x+3x−6=0

=2x(x−2)+3(x−2)=0

=(x−2)(2x+3)=0⇒x−2=0,2x+3=0

=x=2,x= 2−3

Hence the other root is2−3
