Given:
p(x) = 2x² + 2x + k = 0
• One root = -1/3
To find :
• The value of k .
Solution :
• put x = -1/3
=> 2 (-1/3)² + 2 (-1/3) + k =0
=> 2/9 - 2/3 +k = 0
=>( 2-6+9k)/9= 0
=> 9k= 4
=> k = 4/9
