If one root of the polynomial f(x)=X2 +5x+k is reciprocal of the other.find the value of k

f ( x ) = x² + 5x + k

Let p and 1/p are two roots of f ( x ) ,

compare f ( x ) with ax² + bx + c

a = 1 , b = 5 , c = k

product of the roots = c/a

p × 1/p = k / 1

1 = k


Therefore ,

value of k = 1
