If one root of the quadratic equation 3^2 − 10 + = 0 1/3, find the value of p.​

Given equation is: 3x2−10x+p=0

Substituting x=31 in the above equation, we get 

3(31)2−310+p=0

31−310+p=0

3−9=−p

∴p=3

Now we know that product of roots is ac for a quadratic equation ax2+bx+c=0

Hence, ac in the above case will be  =3p

Now let the unknown root be β

Hence, β.31=3p=33=1

Hence, β.31=1

β=3

Hence, the value of the unknown root is 3.
