3x² + px + 4

let the α be 2/3 other root be β

we know that, α + β = -b/a

2/3 + β = -p/3

β = -p-2  .......1

αβ = c/a

2/3*β = 4/3

β = 2     .......2

from eq 1 and 2

p = -4

Thus, the value of p is -4 and other root is 2
