If one root of the quadratic polynomial X²+ 3x - k is 3 , find the value of k.

p( x ) = x² + 3x - k


p(3) = (3)² + 3 × 3 - k



=> 9 + 9 - k = 0




=> 18 - k = 0



=> - k = -18


=> k = 18

3 is one of the root of polynomial so it satisfy the given equation !!
