If one side of a rectangle is increased by 20% and the other side is increased by 5%, find the percent increase in area.​

↣Let the length be increased by 20%

↣new length = 1.2 l

↣Breadth be increased by 5%

↣new breadth = 1.05 b

↣Area of the new rectangle = (1.2 l x 1.05 b)

=1.26 lb Increased area

= 1.26 lb - lb

= 0.26 lb Percentage increase in the area

= (0.26 lb / lb) x 100

= 26 %.
