If one side of a square is increased by 2 metres and the other side is reduced by 2 metres, a rectangle i
formed whose perimeter is 48 m. Find the side of the original square.​

let side of square be x

length of rectangle=x+2

breadth of rectangle=x-2

A/Q

2[(x+2)+(x-2)]=48

2[2x]=48

4x=48

x=48/4

x=12

So,side of square=12 cm
