If one side of square is represented by (18x-20) units and the adjacent side is represented by(42-13x)units.find the length of the side of the square. Hence find the area of the square.

In square all sides are equal
Therefore,
18x - 20 = 42 - 13x
On solving,
x = 2

Side = 18x - 20
= 18(2) - 20
= 16
Area of square = (Side)^2
= (16)^2
= 256
