one sixth of a number is 35 less than three fourth of a number

x/6 + 35 = 3x/4

x/6 + 210/6 = 3x/4

210+x / 6 = 3x/4

210+x = 6(3x/4)

210+x = 3(3x/2)

210+x = 9x/2

210 = 9x/2 - x

210 = 9x/2 - 2x/2

210 = 7x/2

210*2 = 7x

420 = 7x

420/7 = x

60 = x

the number is 60
