2x^2-3x+p=0
let the other root be q
now
sum of the roots = 3/2
3+q = 3/2
6+2q=3
2q= -3
q = -3/2
now as 3 is the root of the equation
2*3^2-3*3+p=0
2*9-9+p=0
18-9+p=0
p = -9
hope this helps:p
