Question:-

  • If one of the root of the quadratic equation is 4 . The equation is 2x² - kx - 8 = 0 then find k.

To Find:-

  • Find the value of k.

Solution:-

 \sf \dashrightarrow \ 2 { x }^{ 2 } - kx - 8 = 0

 \sf \dashrightarrow \ 2{ ( 4 ) }^{ 2 } - 4k - 8 = 0

 \sf \dashrightarrow \ 32 - 8 - 4k = 0

 \sf \dashrightarrow \ 4k = 24

 \sf \dashrightarrow \ k = \cancel\dfrac { 24 } { 4 }

 \sf \dashrightarrow \ k = 6

Hence ,

  • The value of k is 6.
