if one zero of the quadratic polynomial f(x)=4x²-8kx-9 is negative of the other,find the value of k​

Here,

α=α, β= -α [∵ one zero is negative of the other.]

Given, f(x)=4x^2-8kx-9

We know,

α+β= -b/a

α+(-α)= -(-8k)/4 [∵ in f(x), a=4, b= -8k, c=-9]

α-α= 8k/4

0= 8k/4

8k=0

∴k=0
