If only rich people are allowed to contest election this means that only rich people get selected and become member of assembly.
This will seriously effect the decision making in the assembly because majority of the rich people are not aware of the poor people's problem they face on day to day basis because they rarely interact with them.
That is why democracy demands representation from each group. If only rich people become member of assembly then there will be no equal representation of all the groups.
