It is very simple.

10.50 rs for 3 oranges,
42 rs for (?) oranges

= 42×3/10.50

Answer:

The number of oranges sold at ₹10.50 = 3

The number of oranges sold at ₹1 = 3/10.50

The number of oranges sold at ₹42 = 3/10.50 *42

= 3/1050*10 *42

= 3/10500 *42

= 126/10500

= 0.012

= 12 oranges
