Given:

• p-1 ,p+3 ,3p-1 are in AP .

To find :

• The value of p .

Solution:

• As we know that ,

In AP , the common difference is same , i.e

• t2-t1 = t3-t2

here

• t1= p-1

• t2= p+3

• t3 = 3p-1

=> p+3-(p-1)= 3p-1-(p+3)

=> p+3 -p+1 = 3p -1-p-3

=> 4= 2p-4

=> 8=2p

=> p= 8/2

=> p = 4

Hence ,the value of P is 4.
