If p+2, 2p-6 and 4p-2 are three consecutive terms of an A.P then find the value of p.​

Answer:

let a1 = p + 2 , a2 = 2p -6 and a3 = 4p - 2

now, a2 - a1 = a3 - a2

2p - 6 - (p +2) = 4p -2 - (2p -6)

2p - 6 - p -2 = 4p - 2 -2p + 6

p - 8 = 2p + 4

2p - p = 4 + 8

p = 12
