Given : p=20+x²   , C=10-x+x²  

To Find : the profit when just 1 item is sold

Solution:

p=20+x²

profit when just 1 item is sold

substitute x = 1

=> p  = 20 + 1²

=> p  = 20 + 1

=> p = 21  

Profit is 21  when 1 item is sold

if 20+x²   is R

Then revenue = 21  at 1  item

Cost =   10-x+x²    = 10 - 1 + 1 = 10

Profit = Revenue - Cost  = 21 - 10 = 11
