for finding the first proportion we can find it in two ways

first way,

first proportion=second proportion×third proportion/forth proportion = 8×6/9 = 48/9 = 16/3 = 5 1/3

second way,

p/8=6/9

p/8=2/3

p=2/3×8

p=16/3

p=5 1/3
