Hi ,

***************************************

Degree of a Polynomial :

If p( x ) is a polynomial in x , the

highest power of x in p( x ) is called

the degree of the polynomial p( x ).

***************************************

Now ,

p = 9 ( given )

f( x ) = ( x - p )³ + 729

= ( x - 9 )³ + 729

= x³ - 27x² + 243x - 729 + 729

= x³ - 27x² + 243x

Degrees each term is 3 , 2 , 1

Therefore ,

Highest degree of f( x ) = 3

I hope this helps you.
