If p(a)=0.6, p(b)=0.4 and p(a intersection b)=0.3. based on the above, can we say that the events a and b are independent events. give reasons for your answer.

p(A u B)=0.9

given that the A and B are independent events i.e; P(A n B)=0

P(A uB)=P(A)+P(B)

P(AuB)=0.6+0.3

by solving,

P(B)=0.3
