on drawing the graph of such condition, we will see that the mid point of AB lies on (-4,4)
but acc. to question,p is the mid point of line segment AB, thus on equating these values ,
a/2,4=-4,4
a/2=-4
a=-4×2=-8
thus value of a is -8....
