Given,

Main numbers are = p & q

p and q are prime numbers.

To find,

The HCF (Highest Common Factor) of the given numbers.

Solution,

We know that, prime numbers have only two factors. First factor is 1 and second factor is the number itself.

So, the prime factorization of the p and q (which are prime numbers) are as follows,

p = p × 1

q = q × 1

From, the above mentioned prime factorization we get that the highest common factor of the both numbers is 1.

So, the HCF or Highest Common Factor of the given numbers = 1

Hence, HCF of p and q will be 1.
