Given:

The Quadratic Equation is: x² + px - q = 0

The roots of the equation are: p and q

To find:

The value of p and q.

Solution:

We know that the standard form of a Quadratic Equation is:

ax² + bx + c = 0

Sum of roots = -b/a

Product of roots = c/a

On comparing with the given quadratic equation we get:

sum of roots: p+q = -p

Product of roots: pq = -q

On solving we get: p = -1 and q=2

Hence the values of p and q is -1 and 2 respectively.
