It is given that p is the predecessor of of q.
i.e. q + 1 = p. ..….....(i).

We have to find out. .. p-q =?

Transposing digits in equation (i). . ......

q+1 =p

Transposing q to RHS,

1 = p - q

Hence, p - q = 1.
( option 1 is correct)
