Prime number : A number is called a prime number, if it has no factor other than one and the number itself.

E.g - 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 23,.... are prime  numbers..

HCF : HCF of two or more numbers =  product of the smallest power of each common prime factor involved in the numbers.

**If there is no common prime factor, then HCF of the given numbers is 1.

SOLUTION :

Given : p & q are two Prime numbers.

We know that , prime numbers have only two factors 1 and the number itself.

Let p = 3 and q = 5

The  factors of p and q are as follows :

p = 3 × 1

q = 5  × 1

Here, there is no common prime factor, then HCF of the given numbers is 1.

HCF (3,5) = 1

Hence, HCF (p,q) = 1

HCF of any two prime numbers is 1.
Here p and q are prime numbers.
So HCF of p and q is 1
