hELLO !
P(E) +Pnot(E) =
0.25 + P not(E) = 1
⇒ P not (E) = 1 - 0.25
 ⇒ P not (E) = 0.75                                Ans.
I hope the answer is correct !

If P(E) = 0.25 then the P(not E) is 0.75

Given :

P(E) = 0.25

To find :

P(not E)

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Write down the given probability

Here it is given that for the event E

P(E) = 0.25

Step 2 of 2 :

Find the value of P(not E)

We know that for any event E ,

P(E) + P(not E) = 1

In order words P(E) + P(E') = 1

Thus we get

P(E) + P(not E) = 1

⇒ 0.25 + P(not E) = 1

⇒ P(not E) = 1 - 0.25

⇒ P(not E) = 0.75

Hence the required P(not E) = 0.75
