Given: p(e) = 0.82

To find: Complementary event of p(e).

Solution:

  • Now we know that probability of any event is either equal to 0 or 1 or in between 0 to 1.
  • So we have given probability of certain event as 0.82.
  • We know that according to Probability concept:

                P(event) + P'(event) = 1

  • So putting value of given probability, we get:

               p(e) + p'(e) = 1

                0.82 + p'(e) = 1

                p'(e) = 1 - 0.82

                p'(e) = 0.18

Answer:

So the complementary event of p(e) is 0.18.
