Let the age of P be x and let the age of q be y

Now it is given that ,

x=y-2-------------1
and y =2+x------------2

From the data :-x+y=90 ---------3

From

1 substituting the value of x in equation 3:-

x+y=90
y-2+y=90
2y=90+2
2y=92
y=92/2
y=46

Substituting value of y in equation 3:-

x+y=90
x=90-46
x=44

Answer :- The age of P = x = 44 years
The age of q = y = 46 years
