{  \huge\tt Question}

If P is the mid point of the line segment joining the points A and B then write coordinates of point P when A (-2,-3) B (2,3).

 \huge \orange{ \frak Answer}

Option (4) is correct i.e the coordinates of P (0,0)

Solution

It is given that the line segment AB has a midpoint P , A having coordinates (-2,-3) and B have coordinates (2,3) , in order to find the coordinates of P apply Mid - point Formula .

Let the co-ordinates of P be ( x , y ) .

and let the coordinates of A ( -2 , -3 ) and

B ( 2, 3 ) be represented as following respectively.

 \tt(x_1y_1) \&(x_2y_2)

☯︎ Apply Mid point Formula.

 \sf( x , y )  = ( \dfrac{x_1 + x_2}{2}  ,\dfrac{y_1 + y_2}{2} )

On Implementation ,

 : \implies \tt(x,y) = ( \dfrac{ - 2 + 2}{2}  ,\dfrac{ - 3 + 3}{2})  \\ = ( \dfrac{0}{2} , \dfrac{0}{2})  = \colorbox{red}{  (0,0)}

☯︎ Conclusion

The coordinates of P is ( 0 , 0 ) implies that the origin is itself the midpoint of the line segment AB .

Thankyou
