If P is the midpoint... it means that AP = BP that means it divides AB into 2 equal parts... Hence,
AP + BP = 7 cm
=> 2 x AP = 7 cm ( Since AP and BP are equal )
=> AP = 7cm / 2
=> AP = 3.5 cm
