Perimeter = p
Side = a
Base = b

Now, as the triangle is isosceles, and:

Perimeter = sum of all sides

=》 p = a + a + b

=》 p = 2a + b

P=2a+b

Being an isosceles triangle it's sides will be equal.

The perimeter is the sum of all sides so it will be the sum of 2(side a ) and base b
