Answer:

Given, polynomial, p(x)=2x 3 +5x 2 −3x−2 divided by (x−1).

The polynomial is divided by (x−1) .

Then put (x−1)=0⟹ x=1

we get,p(1)= 2(1) 3 +5(1) 2 −3(1)−2

⇒p(1)=2+5−3−2

⇒p(1)=2+5−5

⇒p(1)=2.

So, when p(x)= 2x 3 +5x 2 −3x−2 is divided by x−1, the remainder obtained is 2.
