Step-by-step explanation:

when x + 1 is factor

x+1 =0

x=-1

p(-1) = (-1)^3 + k(-1)^2 + h (-1)+6 =0

-1+k-h+6 =0

5+k-h =0

k-h = -5 [ first eq.]

when x-2 is factor

x-2=0

x = 2

p(2)=(2)^3 +k(2)^2+h(2)+6 =0

8+4k+2h +6 =0

14 +4k+2h =0

4k+2h=-14

4k +h = -7 [second eq.]

adding 2 and 1 eq.

4k+h=-7

k-h =-5

5k =-12

k = -2.4

putting value of k

4k+h = -7

4(-2.4)+h = -7

-9.6+h =-7

h= -7+ 9.6

h= 2.6
