If p+q=36 and p-q=20,then q?

p-q=20
Adding both equations we get 2p=56
So p=28 Putting in equation 1 we get 28-q=20
So q=8

p - q = 20   → 2

We have to find the value of q, 
i-e.   q = ?
Now add both the equations, we get
(p + q) + (p - q) = 36+20
p + q + p - q = 56
2p = 56
p = 56/2
p = 28
Put this value of p in equation (1), we get:
28 + q = 36
q = 36 - 28
q = 8
