Here,  \frac{p}{q}  =  \frac{5}{7} \\  \\  =  > p =  \frac{5q}{7}

Now, put the value of p in eq. (1),

 =  >  \frac{5q}{7}   - q =  - 2 \\  \\  =  >  \frac{5q  -  7q}{7}  =  - 2 \\  \\  =  >  - 2q =   - 2 \times 7 \\  \\  =  > q =   \frac{  14}{2}  \\  \\  =  > q =  7 \\

Now, put the value of q in eq.(1),

=> p-7=-2

=>p=-2+7

=> p=5
