if p:q=5 and p-q =-4, let us find the value of 3p+4q

Given ,

p:q =5:1

p/q = 5k/k. (where k is a constant )

p = 5q

Substituting the value of p in 2nd equation

5q- q = -4
4q = -4
q = -1

Therefore
p =5×-1 = -5

Now ,

3p + 4q = 3×-5 + 4×-1
= -15 -4
=-19
