Answer:

Given:

p-q=9 & pq=36

So, p-q=9

p=9+q

pq=36..... (1)

Now substituting the value of p in eq. (1)

(9+q) q=36

q²+9q=36

q²+9q-36=0

q²+12q-3q-36=0

q(q+12) -3(q+12) =0

(q-3) (q+12) =0

q-3=0 or q+12=0

q=3 or q=-12

Now, Value of p→pq=36

p=12 or -3

1) p+9 ( taking p as 12)

12+9=21

p+9(taking p as -3)

-3+9=6

2) p²-92(taking p as 12)

(12) ²-92

=144-92

=52

p²-92(taking p as -3)

(-3) ²-92

=9-92

=-83
