Given : p,q and r are three consecutive terms of an AP whose common difference is d,

To Find : value of r-p is ___

Solution:

AP is of form

a , a + d  , a + 2d  ,  ...................

d is common difference

a = first term

Tₙ₊₁ = Tₙ + d

p,q and r are three consecutive terms of an AP whose common difference is d,

=> q = p + d

    r =  q + d

substitute  q = p + d

=> r =  p + d   + d

=> r = p + 2d

=> r - p = 2d

value of r-p is ___ (b) 2d
