Given :  p, q, r, s are in continued proportion and p:q=3/2,

To Find : p:s

Solution:

p, q, r, s are in continued proportion

=> p/q  = q/r  = r/s   =  k

=> r = ks

   q =  kr  = k (ks) = k²s

   p = kq  = k (  k²s) = k³s

=> p/s  = k³

p/q  = k

p:q=3/2,

=> k = 3/2

p/s  = (3/2)³

=> p/s  = 27/8

=> p : s = 27 : 8
