Answer:

This equation is i algebraic expression in which p and q are variables and the numerical or constant quantity that is placed before the variables is known as coefficient. Therefore in sentence form it can be written as,

The sum of the number of boys in second row (2nd) and the number of girls in fourth (4th) row is  44 .

And the sum of the number of boys in third row (3rd) and number of girls in second row (2nd) is  46.

p = 12  &      q = 5

Step-by-step explanation:

p represents number of boys and q represents number of girls

coefficients of p and q represents the  number of rows

2p + 4q = 44,   - Eq1

3p + 2q = 46   - Eq 2

multiplying Eq2 by 2

=> 6p + 4q = 92

then subtracting Eq1

=> 4p = 48

=> p = 12

putting p = 12 in Eq1

=> 2 * 12 + 4q = 44

=> 4q = 20

=>     q = 5
