Question :-

Find the remainder when p(x) = 2x³ - 3x² + 4x - 2 is divided by p(-1).

Solution :-

Putting the value of p = (-1) in the polynomial p(x),

\sf\implies 2 \times {(-1)}^{3}  - 3 \times {(-1)}^{2} + 4 \times (-1) - 2

\sf\implies 2 \times (-1) - 3 \times (-1) + (-4) - 2

\sf\implies -2 - (-3) - 4 - 2

\sf\implies -2 + 3 - 4 - 2

\sf\implies - 8 + 3

\large{\boxed{\sf \therefore -5}}

Hence, the remainder is -5.
