given p(x ) = 2x^4 + 3x^3 - x - 5
p(-2) = 2 ( -2)^4 + 3( -2)^3 - ( -2) - 5
= 32 - 24 + 2 - 5
= 34 - 29
= 5
hence, p ( -2) = 5
p(-2) = 2 ( -2)^4 + 3( -2)^3 - ( -2) - 5
= 32 - 24 + 2 - 5
= 34 - 29
= 5
hence, p ( -2) = 5

By putting the value '-2' at the place of x :-
2(-2)^4 + 3(-2)^3 - (-2) - 5
=> 2(16) + 3(-8) + 2 - 5
=> 32 - 24 - 3
=> 8 - 3
=> 5
Hence, it is not a factor of this polynomial.

2(-2)^4 + 3(-2)^3 - (-2) - 5
=> 2(16) + 3(-8) + 2 - 5
=> 32 - 24 - 3
=> 8 - 3
=> 5
Hence, it is not a factor of this polynomial.
