Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

{2(x+2y) + (x-2y)} - {(x+2y) - 2(x-2y)}

{(2x+4y) + x-2y} - {x+2y -2x+4y}

{2x+4y+x-2y} -x-2y+2x-4y

2x+4y+x-2y-x-2y+2x-4y

rearranging..........

2x+2x  +4y-4y  +x-x  -2y-2y

4x-4y

4(x-y)

P = x+2y and Q = x-2y

equation = (2P+Q) - (P-2Q)

Put,

P = x+2y and Q = x-2y

{2(x + 2y) + (x - 2y)} - {(x + 2y) - 2(x - 2y)}

= {2x + 4y + x - 2y} - {x + 2y - 2x + 4y}

= 2x +4y + x - 2y - x - 2y + 2x - 4y

After rearranging them we got....

= 2x + 2x + x - x + 4y - 4y - 2y - 2y

= 4x - 4y

= 4(x - y)
